Attention bread roll lovers! Homemade bread rolls taste even better than those from the bakery - I promise you that. Bread rolls are a real ritual for us, so we make a yeast dough almost every week. These special walnut rolls are refined with a portion of love and delicious walnuts. Their unique flavor unfolds especially fresh from the oven and will impress everyone at Sunday breakfast. Preparing these rolls is really child's play, and the smell throughout the house when they are baking in the oven until golden brown is simply irresistible.

These Ingredients make:

5 Bread roll
  • 250 ml warm water
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 425 g Spelt flour type 630 or wheat flour type 405
  • 7 g Dry yeast (or 20 g fresh yeast)
  • 100 g Walnuts

Preparing the dough

  1. Dissolve the yeast and salt in the warm water.
  2. Gradually add the flour and knead everything for 4 minutes (optionally using a food processor) until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Roughly chop the walnuts and knead them into the dough until they are evenly distributed.

Allow the dough to rise

  1. Dust the dough with flour and cover with cling film.
  2. Leave to rest in a warm place for 45 minutes.

Molding and baking

  1. Divide the dough into 5 equal portions (145 g each) and shape into rolls.
  2. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees top and bottom heat.
  3. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  4. Brush the rolls with oat crème cuisine and bake for about 13 minutes until golden brown.

Enjoy

  1. Remove the freshly baked walnut rolls from the oven and serve warm, if desired.
