Vegan waffles

Waffles are definitely my favorite food. Even as a child, I wished for them every year for my birthday. Whenever there are waffles somewhere, I just can't resist the good smell. So I was all the more pleased this morning when Kevin baked me waffles for my birthday. Here is my favorite vegan waffle recipe for you

Equipment

  • 1 Waffle iron

Ingredients

These Ingredients make:

8 Waffles
  • 125 g Vegan butter
  • 125 g Agave syrup
  • 500 g Wheat flour (type 405) or spelt flour type 630
  • 2 TL Baking powder
  • 1 TL Salt
  • 180 ml Oat milk
  • 175 ml Mineral water
  • Some vegan butter for the waffle iron

Toppings

  • Soy yogurt
  • Berries Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries
  • Almond slivers
  • Puffed quinoa

Instructions
 

Make the dough

  1. Melt the vegan butter and mix together with the agave syrup in a large bowl.
  2. Gradually add the wheat flour, baking powder and salt to the butter and agave syrup mixture.
  3. Slowly pour in the oat milk and mineral water, stirring constantly, until you have a smooth batter.

Bake waffles

  1. Preheat the waffle iron and grease with a little vegan butter.
  2. Place a ladleful of batter in the middle of the hot waffle iron and spread evenly.
  3. Bake the waffles until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve

  1. Garnish the freshly baked waffles with the desired toppings, such as soy yogurt, almond slivers, puffed quinoa and fresh berries.
  2. Serve the waffles warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • If desired, the waffles can also be served with maple syrup, powdered sugar or other favorite toppings.
