Vegan pizza rolls

With this simple recipe, you can conjure up really tasty vegan pizza buns that are perfect for impressing at parties or as a snack to go. The combination of fluffy yeast dough, hearty tomato sauce, crispy vegan cheese and fresh vegetables is a real treat. The pizza rolls can be enjoyed warm or cold.

Equipment

Ingredients

These Ingredients make:

12 Pizza rolls
  • 450 g Flour
  • 250 ml lukewarm water (20 ml more as required)
  • 3,5 g Dry yeast or 20 g fresh yeast
  • 1 El Agave syrup or sugar/other syrup
  • 3 EL Oil
  • 1 TL Salt

Sauce

  • 1 EL Tomato paste
  • 200 g strained tomatoes
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 EL Agave syrup
  • 1/2 TL Salt
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1 TL Italian herbs
  • 1 Handful fresh basil

Yeast dough

  1. Dissolve the dry yeast in lukewarm water and leave to stand briefly until it foams.
  2. Mix the flour, agave syrup, oil and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add the dissolved yeast and knead everything into a smooth dough (add more water if necessary).
  4. Cover the dough and leave it to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has doubled in volume.

Sauce

  1. Roughly chop the garlic and onion. Puree in a blender with the tomato purée, tomato purée, agave syrup, Italian herbs, salt and basil.

Compilation

  1. Roll out the yeast dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  2. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pastry and sprinkle with vegan sprinkled cheese.
  3. Cut the peppers into strips and spread over the sauce.
  4. Roll up the dough from the long side and cut into slices about 2 cm wide.
  5. Place the slices on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 20-25 minutes until the pizza rolls are golden brown.
