Chocolate porridge is more than just a nutritious breakfast - it is a real feast for all chocolate lovers and those who like to start their day on a sweet note. The combination of tender rolled oats, plant-based milk and cocoa makes this breakfast a healthy and delicious start to the day.

Ingredients

These Ingredients make:

1 Portion
  • 1 Handful Nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts...)
  • 65 g Oat flakes
  • 180 ml Plant milk (oats, almonds, soy...)
  • 180 ml Water
  • 1 Pinch Cinnamon
  • 1 TL Baking cocoa

Toppings

  • Nuts Roasted
  • 1/2 Pear
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 EL Soy yogurt
  • 1 EL Quinoa puffed

Instructions
 

Roasting nuts

  1. Toast a handful of nuts in a pan over a low heat.
  2. Set aside half of the nuts (for the topping).

Cooking porridge

  1. Allow the oats and water to swell in the same pan over a medium heat for 5 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the plant milk, cinnamon and cocoa while stirring.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the maple syrup.

Serve and add toppings

  1. Pour the chocolatey porridge mixture into a bowl.
  2. Add the roasted nuts, pear, banana, quinoa (puffed) and soy yogurt as desired.

Notes

Quick version (approx. 5 minutes)
If you don't have much time in the morning, you can also prepare the porridge in the microwave:
  • Place all ingredients (except toppings) in a bowl in the microwave (2 min/700 watts).
  • Stir in a dash of plant-based drink until the desired consistency is achieved.
  • Add toppings as desired and enjoy.
